Latest news: Fish and Enter are working on New ships VERY slowly. The newest iteration of models will be significantly less black.

WARNING: There is a problem with the physics demo 9, causing it to require DX SDK to run. This problem will be fixed in the next release. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Trailer release!

October 1st, 2006, by CCTSM

Well, it’s really been sitting still for far too long, so I decided to do something about it, and put it together as best I could. (…bother to.)

It might not have perfect transitions, the rendered sections look as bad as they’ve always done, etc - but it’s not half bad, given what I had to work with.

So: Since I’m far too kind, I’ve made three versions. They’re all identical aside from the quality; I really recommend getting the 2700 kbps version, as it’s the best one for the size. The 10320 kbps one is mostly a curiosity for those that want to archive it or something - the quality difference is neglible (… because the rendered footage was compressed more…). The 1000 kbps version is wholly fine for almost any uses; if you don’t run above 1024×768, don’t get the higher-res ones.

They are all encoded with the XviD codex; if you cannot play them back, get VLC, it plays them back perfectly and you don’t have to mess with codecs.

Now, here we go:

  • 1000 kbit/s (8.33 MB; 640×360, 908 kbps 25fps XviD video + 96 kbps MP3 audio)
  • 2700 kbit/s (22.2 MB; 1280×720, 2500 kbps 30fps XviD video + 196 kbps MP3 audio)
  • 10320 kbit/s (74.3 MB; 1280×720, 10000 kbps 30fps XviD video + 320 kbps MP3 audio)

Note: The 2nd mirror is now down. Thank you for your attention, it has serviced 56 downloads and has cost me $0.63, which isn’t too bad.

PLEASE RIGHT-CLICK AND SAVE THESE VIDEOS, DON’T STREAM THEM!

Trailer Release is … Ack

September 4th, 2006, by Nerdfish

The Rendering of all sequences has being completed. Unfortunately my postproduction guy decides to go real stealthy when I need him, so I am relying on Thorin on this. Due to popular request, I have re-skinned the mighty and often lamented Republic for your viewing pleasure.

Physics Demo Alpha 7

Physics demo up.

CCTSM has posted the internal physics demo V7. Have fun. Before playing it, we highly recommend reading the readme file, as it contains Really Useful Information™.

Trailer Delayed … yet again

August 10th, 2006, by Nerdfish

I have decided to reskin the Republic. Don’t ask why.

Link Icons

August 2nd, 2006, by Nerdfish

I have proposed to use icons instead of texts for our navigation bar.

CCTSM: Insert Sarcasm Here.

Edit by CCTSM: Apparently you completely failed to grasp my point about the post, oh how surprising.
Anyhow, the buttons above are wholly designed, conceptualized, and drawn by Nerdfish. I added a slight stroke effect as they were far too blurry and bright, but I am not responsible for any sort of ocular or cerebral damage that may occur from looking at them, nor do I write my name on them anywhere so any disgrace or embarrassment is to be solely placed on Nerdfish.
If you are confused, they have tooltips for their functions, and they are (from left to right):
Forums - Downloads - Gallery - Ships.
Thank you. [/edit]

Trailer credits mishap

August 2nd, 2006, by CCTSM

Well, there was a bug in the trailer credits that I rendered. I’ve now updated the file on the server (outro.avi @ http://trailer.ssnt.org/), so if you plan to use it for something, please re-download it.

Also, if anyone wants me to add more people to it (see forum thread), just tell me so and I’ll do it.

Trailer Delayed … again

August 1st, 2006, by Nerdfish

The post prod guy is taking his time dispearing, and the max is taking its time rendering. this’d take another week or so.

Spam and such things

July 25th, 2006, by CCTSM

Well, I’ve been seeing quite a lot of spam around here lately - the israeli flower dealer, and the usual suspects, really.

So, to combat this largely dull phenomena (the flower stuff was entertaining), I’ve set the main site to only allow comments from previously approved posters.

So, yeah, there will be a delay in having comments appear if you haven’t posted here before.

Also, the forums have been seeing a fair share of crap, so I’m going to disable guest posting. It’s really no point in keeping it on, as we don’t really get a lot of guests. Of course, if IPB includes a captcha function by default, I’ll rather turn that on for guests, but I won’t bother fucking around with it.

-CCTSM

Edit: I’ve now disallowed guest posting everywhere.

Trailer Delayed

July 19th, 2006, by Nerdfish

The Trailer is taking forever to render. I wish to polish it a bit more, so it will be delayed to the next week.

Hey change my password back.

July 15th, 2006, by Nerdfish

CCTSM have apparently changed my password without prior warning. Until he changes back I won’t be able to upload anything. No, I am not going to beg for it, if you don’t change it back I will change host.

Production on the Trailer has more or less finished, I am rendering the first take now.

Edit by CCTSM: Yes, yes, woe us. Shouting at me causes automatic account deactivation, and I merely forgot to switch it back on again. Stop making a fuss out of things.
