Orion SpecOps Cruiser

It is the union of Special Operations technology, Hyperspace Field Wrapping technology and the cloak field generator. This ship appears slow, but can move faster than a frigate and has firepower and armor to tangle with very large ships.

Although it appears to be a long-range recon cruiser, it can perform deep-strike operations against sensitive enemy installations during wartime.

Stealth Plating

On the first look, a sheet of stealth plating looks ugly and fragile, and apparently useless. Upon a closer inspection, it disappears. The stealth plating lacks any kind of curve, so any active signal striking its’ surface is mirrored away, if it’s not absorbed directly by the plating.

This kind of plating is used when stealth is the only protection, and the Orion certainly needs it.

Stealth Field Generator

*Unknown, but likely pretty stealthy.*

Stealth torpedo

The Orion class uses a torpedo that cannot be detected until it’s too late. But firing them would briefly give away the position of the Orion itself, making the ship a relatively easy target.

Death hand

The Orion cruiser is built around the most powerful mass drive there is. The death hand can accelerate its 250 mm mass driver round to 50% of light speed. Such round can pose a threat to even the best armored targets.

Advanced sensor Array

An important role of the Orion cruiser is gathering intelligence. It performs this task very well thanks to the senor array mounted just behind the bridge. The array is capable of conducting both passive and active scans, and if necessary, it can patch into the enemy’s communications.

Antimatter Afterburner

The Orion class could outmaneuver a frigate thanks to its antimatter afterburner. The afterburner allows the Orion class to get out of most sticky situations and occasionally surprise their opponents, if the existence of the Orion isn’t a surprise by itself.

Hyperspace Cavitation Technology

*Unknown, but we hope it doesn’t involve searches*
